A Nostalgic Reflection

Chosen event has been a step to create & prepare the young, youthful missionaries who will be bearing the torch of faith, enlightening the world through selfless service & unwavering devotion to the Holy Church. Their main focus was to foster a young generation of spiritually enriched servants of God, ready to preach the teachings of Christ with love & compassion.

Here, people from all different places were united, to grow in hope, joy, & communion, embracing a purpose that transcends the temporal as well touches the eternal.

Thus, we were all truly among the “Chosen Ones”.

 

Day 1: Explore

A very known guest speaker ‘George Devassy’, global youth trainer, who has been a key leader in the Jesus Youth movement, spoke about the challenges been faced by Christian youth. He mainly spoke about how the Scripture shows & guides us through our path everytime as well how to deepen personal faith in Christ, building a strong foundation empowering youth to overcome obstacles.

The night flashed through a magical experience by the ‘Vox Cristi Band’ team, a Christian contemporary rock band based in India. They are a musical outreach of the international Catholic youth movement Jesus Youth. Also along with the band team our very own CMI brothers joined them in the song ‘Theyyare’ which was just spectacular.

The day ended with the theme as said in Mathew 10:27- “What is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the rooftops.”

 

Day 2: Experience

The speaker for the day was a family, Jose Antony Elengical, his wife Sharu Jose, along with their 5 children was an amazing one to speak off, the testimonies that they shared through their real life experiences was just astonishing, as well how closely they hold onto the Word of God, makes us realize we just need to take up a step ahead to walk through His words. Thus, holding on to Christ, just creates magic in our lives.

The day gave us a personal touch of how Christ is essential for every believer, a very deepening focus about how the Eucharist & the Word of God is the essential/ central part of the church.

To talk of the next mesmerizing part, was the theatre performance by ‘HEY’ team, showcasing a rollercoaster filled with emotions, keeping us await of the next part.

Hence, the day ended up with the theme as said in John 14:6- “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” & Hebrews 4:12- “God’s Word is alive & active.”

 

Day 3: Evangelize

The future of the Church depends on the formation of it’s youth, the theme aims at preparing young believers to become evangelizers & spiritual leaders of the future, by empowering us with the confidence as well spiritual resources to spread the Gospel, inspiring others through their words & actions.

 

          

        

 

Chosen overall has been a place where Christians are called to be the instruments of God’s peace & love in the world.

To speak of Chosen, through one of my favorite bible quote is,

Isaiah 49:15- “See! I will not forget you… I have carved you on the palm of my hand”
